Insert control key (next to driver's seat)

Turn it on

Turn on cab [L] and saloon lights on the panel to the right of the cabin next
to the inter-carriage door

Set your destinationi [F7 F8]

Driver's cab light and temperature controls are behind the driver
-
If you open the window, the unit will not operate unless the droplight interlock
switch is set (next to driver on rear wall and also on the other side of cab)

Insert key into direction control and select "inter" [W S]
-
Set traction control to "emergency" [A D]
-
Set traction control to "off and release"
-
Press audible warning valve reset
-
Move traction control to "rheo 1 hold"
-
Move direction selector to "fwd"
-
Left column next to windscreen

Rate switch - rate2 for normal running, rate1 for slippery conditions

If motors seem to be lacking power, at the next stoop press "overload
relay trip and test", then press "overload relay & MG set"

If you press the "MG trip" button with the cab lights on, it
will turn them off and activate emergency battery powered lights. Press
the "overload relay & MG set" button to test

Runback protection test, isolate and reset - for use if you rollback too far.

Brake test - after activating the cab, turn on then move emergency brake handle to "active". The lights
will show amber. Move the emergency brake handle to off, and the amber lights
should go off and then show green.

Speed control cut in/out, tripcock reset and reverse lockout are used to
deal with moving after a tripcock event and allow moving slowly. Reversing the
unit is impossible unless the "reverser lockout" switch has been activated
and in real life requires prior authorisation.

Lower down are the door override controls for use if the driver goes too far
along the platform or not far enough. It also allows for moving the train
forward with the doors open. The "droplight interlock" allows moving with the
right window open.
