As suggested by Derek Taylor on Distro Tube, I'm trying out Doom Emacs. It has Vim like bindings and is a complex mix of lf file manager and vim and emacs.

First impressions were that it looks good, particularly colour syntax, but it is complicated and most shortcuts have minimum of 2 or three key presses.

I'm thinking I'll stick with Vim and lf.
