I removed all the modified configs I did yesterday, and inadvertantly removed /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf. D'Oh.
got a sample from http://gist.github.com/kindrowboat/7418102f91251a91f73d
As root did:
alsactl init
(had to move /etc/asound.conf to ~/ as root to do it).
alsactl store
Rebooted and bugger me, we have default sink as Built In Audio Stereo instead of Dummy Output.
Now, just need to figure out how to get a light icon for pasystray. In i3 the pasystray icon is white and easy to see. In dwm it is black and hard to see. It does not use the /usr/share/pixmaps/pasystray.png icon.
I read somewhere that the systray panel height has to be above a certain level for the icon to be white. I couldn't be bothered to fix this on Asus sot I'm using the i3 window manager and changed the config file for keybindings to be similar to dwm. The i3 status bar looks pretty good too.
