I tried out the following window managers:
- Bspwm (Binary Space Partioning Window Manager) This one is pretty good but you need a separate status bar. Not too hard to configure. I am leaving this on HP2.
- Awesome Fairly easy to configure using LUA, but it has unnecessary window decorations I couldn't figure out how to remove.
- Xmonad A nightmare. Based on Haskell and has a haskell config file. You can't configure this intuitavely. Mouse didn't work on multiple monitors.
- Qtile A fork of Xmonad based on python. Easy to setup and configure, but it doesn't offer any advantage over dwm.
I have decided that all window managers do the same thing. They are just set up differently and have some minor quirks.
Dwm does everything I want to do, and now it's set up how I like it. I also like i3wm, which I use on Grace's old Acer.
