The installation of nixos was a big learning curve. Most of it involves editing /etc/nixos/configuration.nix. It is complicated by the fact that a lot of system folders are empty. You need to read the documentation.

I took the opportunity to also try out Qtile. It is quite different configuration compared with i3, but ulitmately does the same thing.
