Tuesday 5/4/2005

Left home on 5/4/05 and had lunch at Yea. Trailer towing well with new bike rack. BBQ for tea at Merrijig. 25 and clear.

Wednesday 6/4/2005

Left Merrijig about 11 am and drove via Tolmie and Power's lookout to Gentle Annie for lunch (near Whitfield). On to Bright arriving about 2:30. Set up camp with the Morrises, Dummetts, Barnetts and Walkers. The Liddells arrived late. Had $194 worth of pizza for tea. Everyone was in bed by 11:00. A bit of noise from the hotel and patrons after closing time. 28 and clear. Quite a cool night.

Thursday 7/04/2005

Up early to another glorious day. Walked in to town to shop. After lunch, some kids went swimming. Brad rode to Wandilagong and discovered a fantastic bike track along Morses Creek back to Bright. BBQ for tea.

Friday 8/4/2005

Up early again. After morning tea, the girls went shopping and Brad took some of the older boys on the ride to Wandilagong and back. Quite warm during the day. In the afternoon, everyone except Nick went to Harrietteville and caught trout and salmon for tea. Chris Walker and Mary Barnett arrived about 10:30. Not so cold tonight. Noisy patrons from hotel again.

Saturday 9/4/2005

Rode to Eurobin in the morning. Got quite warm. After lunch some kids played in the creek. Steph met up with Charlotte. Later Brad rode the Cherry Walk track. The Hazelbanks arrived in the late afternoon. Had tea at the Alpine Hotel.

Sunday 10/4/2005

Had the noisiest night. Drunken youths use the park opposite as a shortcut and there had been a party nearby. Gerard O'shannasy's hired bike got stolen. Brad and some of the boys rode the Wandilagong trail again. The Dummetts and Liddells packing to go home. In the afternoon Nick, Dom, Louis and Darcy entered a skate board competition and took out all the major prizes. Started to rain in the evening and continued lightly overnight. Couldn't believe it but more noise again.

Monday 11/4/2005

We couldn't get a late check out so we took down the tents and moved our stuff to the Liddell's old site. Everything a bit damp. Steph arrived back from Charlotte's cabin. The day started to clear around lunch time. Had a lazy morning reading and chatting. Finished packing after lunch and headed off at about 2. Arrived at Merrijig at about 4:15. The weather had become quite warm. Shouted Bev and Graeme dinner at the Merrijig Hotel - which was quite busy for a Monday night.

Tuesday 12/4/2005

Slept in and had a lazy morning. In the afternoon we drove to The Paps. Walked the last kilometre which wa too steep to take the car comfortably. Good view but hazy due to burnoffs. Back to Merrijig for tea - surprise, surprise - a BBQ.

Wednesday 13/4/2005

Another beautiful day but with a stiff breeze. Brad and the kids rode to the water hole. Anna, Bev, and Graeme arrived later with Sophie. Water quite cool. Returned to the house for lunch before packing to go home. Quite a warm day. About 30 degrees. Another great holiday comes to an end.
